My Favorite City

So I figured in between posts about my trip, I would talk about where I have been to, and some of my favorite places.

Today it's my favorite city: Toronto

I have been to other big cities, but nothing quite compares, at least in my eyes.

It's clean, fun, I have never felt unsafe there and the people are (mostly) friendly.

It's a different mentality in Canada compared to the US. Generally, people are interested in having a conversation and are usually helpful. The news is a lot less focused on politics, and more on interesting stories. Actually, there is quite a bit about the US on the news. Oh, and Justin Bieber. Haha.

There is so much to do and see, and there is ALWAYS something going on. I think it's impossible to be bored downtown.

I also went there for New Years, and was standing front row in the huge new years bash. Let me tell you...the Canadians know how to ring in the new year! It was a blast.

So guys, what is your favorite city?

  15. I feel that Canada is an extention of New England that doesn't have to deal with American politics and general bullshit. Much of New England is also extremely friendly, and you can leave your vehicles/home unlocked without issue much of the time. During the winter, some people leave their cars running as they go in and shop. In Florida, you ALWAYS lock the door, and ALWAYS lock your car, even if you're running right in to buy a pack of gum or a drink. Such a different atmosphere. Good post, gotta love America's Hat.

  19. Agreed. Toronto is an awesome city. However the transit system is making it seem like a second-world city. If only Ford wasn't a jackass entrenched in old views. He has some smart ideas, but needs to realize the benefits of public transit.

  22. A lot because I live there :D

To those bashing the mayor, people will be unhappy no matter who is in office, the world hasn't ended yet, get over it.

Otherwise I'm actually sort of surprised that you choose it as your favourite city when personally I find Halifax and to a lesser extent, Vancouver nicer. If you ever get a chance to go out to the east coast, make sure you stop off in Halifax. The weather there is amazing during the summer and the city itself is just so charming. Not as busy though so if that's your thing you should probably stick with Toronto lol.
