City or Country?

I hear a lot of people ask "Are you a city kind of guy? or do you like the country?"

I have to say, I'm definitely a city person. I love the bright lights, tall buildings, and millions of people.  I love the busy life, and seeing/interacting with so many people in one day. I'm a huge people person, so I tend to talk to everyone (my girlfriend gets mad because we can't ever leave somewhere because I'm always talking).

I really love the country, and amazing landscapes, but I've never actually wanted to live there. Maybe I haven't seen enough. I've been around the United States and seen some amazing views, but I've always wanted to live in a downtown metropolis.

Although, I am SUPER excited to see all the views in Europe. They look amazing, and better than anything I've seen in the US. That might change my mind, haha. I am especially excited to go hiking in Switzerland.

I guess I would ultimately say I love both, with a preference towards cities. At least for now. It could change.

So, are you a city or a country kind of person?

  1. Both. I would say suburbanite. I like to have the city nearby for all the attractions and people there. But in the also direction, I like a good place with dark skies at night or a good place to hike.

  4. I live in a city now, but I like both. Cities are more convenient, but there's something to the incomparable privacy you get in the country.

  10. I moved from the city to the country because I thought I'd like it (and the cheaper housing!), but there was so much more life in the city I miss it a lot. I prefer a good city with well kept parks and biking/running trails.

  11. I take a lean towards the country, as far as living goes. Visiting though? City. You can get away with too much great stuff in the country.

  13. Here is how it is for me. I absolutely love the country. I wish I could just roam through forest or mountains with my (future) kids... However, I love computers enough to be a computer science major... Sooo the country sort of limits my abilities. I suppose the city is Okay, as long as it's Seattle.

  17. I like being out in the country, but I would want to be relatively close to a city so I can do city things once in a while.

The raw urban feeling is interesting.
